Though never seriously overweight, I was a couch potato for over 40 years; I never ate healthy. My motto was that if I could eat anything I wanted, I would gladly give up ten years of my life.
As a child, I had asthma and bronchitis, and I hated exercise. In my middle age, I started swimming 13 years ago. 3-4 years ago, I started weight-training and calorie counting. My tenacity totally surprised myself. Though not athletic, I am now fit.
Had it not been for a total change of lifestyle, I would have been on pills for diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol. I go to the gym three times a week and swim 1 km once a week sometimes.
I still don't like exercising, but I like what it does to my health. I sometimes get minor gym injuries. Some can take months to heal. I guess I just have to tell myself not to push too hard at times.
No one can tell you to change. The nagging just gets boring. It has to come from within.
I am here because I use Samsung Health to track my food and exercise. Sometimes the nutritional values are wrong or are unavailable for some food items, so I want to be able to update that.
