@linda at the beginning it was so hard and I didn’t believe in myself. I just kept with it logging every single thing I ate, and adjusting. It started to work and I lost enough to start some exercise. It’s been really good so far this year just slowed down a lot the last month. It’s kind of difficult looking back and realise you let yourself get so unhealthy. Now though I learned so much and won’t give up. You can do it too one week at a time ❤️

Thanks for the advice I was always was very fit and even thou I was dieting I was not losing weight, I was doing extreme fitness and could out do, fitness wise lots of guys at the gym and in life, but I still could not break the plateau and was stuck at 100 kilos. Then I got real sick, and I gained 24 kilos 4 operations later and I am finally coming out of the fog. Yes it will take time, it took 15 years to slowly add it. I have always lived in fear since my childhood, always having to go without food, and exercise more than the rest of the world. So when I got sick and could not exercise I knew the weight would pile on. Finally I feel back in command, although I am bedridden mostly now, Fat Secret it guiding me in better nutrient balance, so there is hope. And thanks for replying, sometimes it helps when you share a problem, I know it is strange, but having others who are dieting helps us all to know that we are not alone in the world. Thanks

@linda that’s a tough situation to be in, I hope you are starting to do better at least health wise. You are so right about how long it takes to put the weight on years and years in the making. So it’s a slow readjustment as the body returns to where it should be. Something I read that helped a lot was about how people dieting under counted their intake by up to 50% even dieticians up to 20% that made me really aware of how easy it can be to kinda fool oneself. The food nutrition helps too eating the right kind of foods at the right time. I really hope you are doing feeling good now and on a path to a better way of living.

I understand about the under-counting, when I was super fit I was eating lots of vegetables, Fat secret has shown me the right vegetable to eat, and back then my portion sizes weren't weighed like I do in grams now so I can better judge exactly what goes in. I am astounded at the higher carbs veges, some appear to slow weight loss altogether and others pass though the system so quick, complex carbs really derail a lot of dieters. Anyway best let you get back to life and I will get back into trying a new vegetable this week. As a builder my father used to say "The tape measure never lies", but at times I say that "The scales never lie, it is just the person on them". LOL.

@linda lol indeed your dad was right ! Sounds like we have had a similar journey of discovery. My vegetable of choice right now is spinach it works for me I love the taste, lots of fibre, nutrients and non starchy. Reading those studies made me realise it’s almost subconscious to not count things you pick on or taste and I have a food scale now too to make my portions right. Makes a difference. I have times too like last 3 weeks where my weight just didn’t binge no matter what I did, no idea what causes that. That’s when I get a bit frustrated but it’s all about that bigger picture and the slow progress 😊

Do not mention spinach, I have hated the stuff all my life, never would go near that rabbit food, but last May I forced myself to try it, on my...try a new vegetable...per week day. And oh my, I am converted I love the stuff I buy 2 fresh packets of spinach per week..Yum under eggs with my other veggies along with silver-beet as well. As to the no-weight loss it happens, the body has to adjust to the food provided and sometimes it holds weight, waiting for the influx of nutrients, your metabolic rate can be hard to fight sometimes, but you will win. One diet I did when I was very young and stupid (OK so now I am not young but will reserve judgement on the stupid part). my diet was under 400 calories a day, I was working a physical job, 12 hours a day and Saturdays, sure I lost heaps of weight, but when I finally got to my goal weight, my metabolic rate was so low, that any extra food was not digested properly and I could not eat properly, and my weight sunk to being an underweight person. It took 6 months before I could eat an average amount of normal food, so take it from me. I learned the hard way that diet is not about calories, it is about nutrients, and finding the correct ones for you. Darn it, I said I was not going to bother you, yakking is the easy part, I am losing weight typing I suppose, every little bit helps. SEE ya
