Kind of surprised to see I lost. I haven’t been tracking as much as I did I just keep up the same sensible choices I did to lose all the weight. Does anyone else who’s lost over 50% of their body weight get terrible anxiety about gaining it back?
I read a study that nearly all people who lose large amounts of weight gain it back within five years and more on top.. I’m up to 3.5 years now though and I’ve maintained for a while, I relaxed a bit and I’m not gaining.. unsure when I’ll vier feel safe.

Not really trying to lose weight now I thought I wanted to hit 50 kilos but I’m almost 53 and I genuinely feel happy with my size. Hope everyone’s doing well not checked in here in ages
53.9 kg Lost so far: 96.1 kg.    Still to go: 9 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

You are the success story most of us are striving for 🥰 You are obviously doing something right, if you have kept it off for 3.5 years👍 My guess is you have replaced old habits with new, being mindful of what you eat and how much you move has become second nature, and eating well and exercising has become a lifestyle. Well done 🤩 The majority may put the weight back on, but it doesn't mean you will. You lost the weight and have maintained for over 3 years. You are already the minority 🌟

@ruby thank you for taking the time to Write that A better way of reframing it! I have kept up Daily exercise steps and crunches and I generally eat the same good foods daily

i worry about gaining it back, but this time is very different and i would imagine the same for you. i almost feel "reprogrammed" when it comes to food and eating. i think as long as your aware, you will be fine. what you have achieved is incredible 🙌

Lol I did exactly that. It was the loss of routine that did it for me. Stopped meal prepping, all forms of exercise and ended up treating most days like a cheat day. Took a few years, the thing that put me into a real nosedive was when I lost my muscle mass. Really terrified of doing it again.
