This is why I hate going to the gym. Always soooo full! Cardio done now for weights 👍💪

I’m very happy I went! I got a great workout! I didn’t even have to wait for any of the machines. Which is crazy!!! I always have to pitter around waiting for the machine I need. I have no room at home Lzen. I don’t even have enough floor space for a yoga mat. And worst of all, my motivation does not live there 😑

I also decided to have a mini protein shake when I got home. 1/4 serving, hopefully it will be just enough to help me sleep 😴

I am so happy you made it to the gym!! :) :) I would say I was 'proud' of you, but 'pride' is one of the 7 deadly sins (for a reason)… I know you don't like squats (also don't put too much on the bar or just use an empty bar), but how do you feel about deadlifts?

And what is a dead lift? Pandam00n ya gotta do it! The hardest part is getting through the door. Then just tunnel vision until you’re back out the door!!

Here is a video of a 78 year old woman doing deadlifts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=12&v=xAoMUn84ACU Here is the funny thing, so not only can't I lift as much as her, but she is doing the reverse grip that I was not doing. I started doing it her way and was able to increase my own deadlifts. When I work out there are only two lifts I care about, squats and deadlifts.

I have trouble with squats since my artificial hip, but I can rock both straight and bent leg deadlifts. Not quite as efficient (squats are king!) but still effective. Also 'good mornings', though I'd ask a qualified trainer for help on that one.(they're great for hitting the hard to hit hamstrings).

I know how that is , all the guys hog up the weight section , then I end up on the treadmill waiting for some to leave so I can do my weights.. That's why I'm at the gym for an hour and a half/

I couldn't workout there either. So aggravating. I'd have to adjust my workout schedule for that place or go somewhere else. Whatever you do, keep your motivation because you are doing great :)

yes going when it is not loaded up is so much more enjoyable. I hate having to wait for a machine. great that you are going!

It gets really full in the evenings. That is why I was trying to go at 5 am when they open. But it is such a hassle. I have to leave for work at 6:30. It just doesn’t work well. This is the closest and cheapest gym. The others are 2.5x the price and further (more damn traffic) away. I just have to deal with it. I’m going to commit to 2 times a week. It’s not much but I can force myself to do that 🤷‍♀️

that is doable, weekends you have more choice at the time you go, at least one day should be less crowded

@CrashtestDawnie - You're doing good! I saw all the 'purple' so I'm thinking 'Planet Fitness'? Yeah, half the price of the other places. I know you will-not-waste-money :)
