MissTaurus's Journal, 24 Aug 21

I haven't been on here for a wee bit as I have been a bit rundown etc... I think that maybe I started this s bit too soon. Still watching what I eat but I do have the odd treat here and there. Have purchased a bottle of potassium tablets recently and some more electrolyte powder as I have found my medication for my feet sometimes leaves me with the dry horrors and I drink heaps of water so I need to balance it out a bit and remember to perhaps have some juice sometimes too. Have been reading one of my Vitamin books recently which is useful. Just going to take it easy and take care of myself a bit.

MissTaurus, you inspired another post ❤

Thank you to you both. I think that I should really give my body a thank you as last year I was very sick and doctors were not sure what was wrong with me. It wasn't until my fourth or so ultrasound that they realised what was going on and within weeks I was rushed into hospital at their request or I would find myself in a far worse off situation than I was in. So I had the surgery and now are going through menopause a bit earlier than what I would have done. On top of it I have a connective tissue disorder so I should give myself a break. Last week New Zealand went back in lockdown again and I have been feeling off colour hot and cold, no appetite, a UTI which I haven't had for a very long time and scratchy eyes and just general unwell symptoms. MJ-77 my pleasure ❤️I went to reply to your post and I accidentally deleted it while getting out of bed... Aireenjoy you are so right. I must slow down. My body is telling me that now.

so important to listen to our bodies and slow down/give ourselves time when we need it! nothing wrong with a treat every now and again and I think we all deserve a few with moving so suddenly into lockdown. Getting the balance right between sticking to a diet/plan and being kind to yourself can be tough but it sounds like you are doing well to me!

Thank you Georgiraffe It's hard when hubby comes home. I am usually very good throughout the week but when he brings out the chips or introduces me to some of his South African food I have never tried it can be difficult. Up until last year we never lived with one another but now we do he loves sharing his food with me. He's a big meat eater and I am thrilled that he told one of my good friends he appreciates me adding more veggies to his diet. Having surgery was good as I had been so sick for a long time so I was sitting alot.

Do you have low potassium I had that before and o got awful leg cramps. You might just be a bit run down and it’s your body saying hey look after me. Just be kind to yourself make a reasonable plan to eat that you can live with no need to go crazy. Just a small reduction in calories started my journey
