Debbie Cousins's Journal, 08 Sep 21

Wow, it's been a week since I recorded a Journal entry! We just finished winterizing and closing our pool. That was a big job, but thankfully, we had a few extra hands to help with the cumbersome parts of the task (like getting the cover in place over the 22' pool). This year, we added an additional step - securing the water tubes to the sides of the pool so they won't float to the center when it rains! The purpose of having them around the inside perimeter is to keep the cover from getting wind under it and whipping it all around. That happened a LOT last year, and at times we thought it was going to blow right off the pool. Hopefully, that won't be a problem this year. But, enough about the pool. Over. Done.

Even though my eating is still off the rails, I have been blessed that the scale has been hovering between 219 and 220 pounds for the last two weeks or so. Still not drinking water. Still AM drinking Diet Coke (about 2-liters a day). Still am eating several slices of Dave's Killer Bread 21 Whole Grains & Seeds toast with butter every day. I love the "nutty" texture of it. I LOVE nuts, and the texture makes it feel like it has nuts in it, even though it doesn't.

I have been better about praying each time I eat, and thanking the Lord for the food and that we have the means to buy it. For now, filet Mignon is off the menu, because things have been a lot tighter, financially. Neither my son nor his wife are working right now, and we've been "having to" pay all their bills and buy them groceries. So far, I say with a grateful heart, we HAVE been able to bear this additional load. "My God shall supply all my need." When my needs change, as they have in this past two months and for an indeterminable length of time into the future, God's supply changes. Still takes an exercise of faith to not worry about things.

HEY, it just thundered, and I didn't have to panic and go hurriedly unplug the pool! HOORAY! So glad that is over until the spring!

Well, that's the scoop on me (saying that makes me want ice cream!)

I'm right there too, but I'm thinking it's time to get back to work. We know how to do this, we've done it successfully in the past, we can do it together. Let's pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and head back down the yellow brick road. Today!!! 💜💚💛
