Debbie Cousins's Journal, 08 Mar 22

Things are continuing to go well. Already have gotten in 3 bottles of water, and I have two more hours in my water-drinking window. This morning, I was out for two hours longer than usual, and only had Diet Coke with me, but when I got home, I drank two bottles at once to make up for the time I had missed.

I highly recommend the book "Atomic Habits." It's really helping me to get more accomplished and to start developing new, healthy habits. And, it is also helping me to weaken established negative habits. For instance, I've eaten a lot more grapes than donuts lately. Each time I eat a grape, I say, "I'm the type of person who makes healthy snack choices." Each time I do that, I'm casting a vote for becoming the type of person I want to be.

The counseling session for my husband and me is today at 1pm. The purpose of it is to guide us in establishing boundaries with our adult son. We spend WAY too much money on him. Yesterday, we spent $50 at Lowe's, getting more things to put up this $400 door, and we spent $52.69 on lunch for the four of us! Stop the madness!!!

Great job holding yourself accountable! I have co-dependent tendencies and have to remind myself that boundaries are good for everyone, including the one's we are enabling. All the best!
