Today is the first day I’ve been able to start walking again. I’ve only done 2 miles so far today, but my goal is to get in 6 total. I ordered myself some new (smaller) clothes today. All summer outfits. Been doing great on fruit and veggies. Started drinking water again today. I’ve had 3 bottles so far. Goal is 6 a day. Trucking along.

Yesterday I had less than 1,400 calories! I got in tons of fruits and vegetables! A very large navel orange, a Honeycrisp apple with a slice of cheddar cheese on the slices, 2 bananas, a cup of chopped strawberries,l (🍌 and 🍓 puréed into a smoothie with a yogurt, a bit of whole milk, and crushed ice), a bunch of asparagus (173g), a big bowl of buttered cabbage (250g), and a cup of steamed zucchini, yellow squash and baby carrots. New affirmation is, “I routinely get in 5 servings a day of fruits and vegetables). Still haven’t been able to walk because of the back pain. Today, it is better, but I slept on my shoulder wrong and it is really hurting this morning. Took 2 Tylenol at 2am, and am going to take a heavy-duty Advil now. I have heat on it.

Weight down again this morning, to 198. In the past 3 weeks, I've lost 7 pounds. Making better choices and back to drinking water. I've had regular BM's for the past 3 days since I stopped taking the stool softeners. My affirmations are becoming realities. Glad to be back on the road to better health and a healthier weight of 149 pounds by mid-August. I've also increased my Protein intake by working in Premier Protein drinks (30g Protein in bottle) and eating Protein/Fiber bars (21g Protein / 12g Fiber) My body is thanking me, and I'm praising God for the progress!

Back still is in severe pain. Not a bit better. Going to take the advice given here yesterday, and start alternating heat and cold (or just switch to cold). I can take cold gel packs to church, whereas I wouldn’t be able to take a heating pad. Please, Lord, I need this to get better!

Well, today my back is in severe pain. Maybe it’s from walking funny for 3 miles yesterday to compensate for the “stitch” in my hip from trying to run the day before. I’m still 199 pounds, which is like trying to run while carrying a 50-pound bag of dog food! I’m sure I’ll be able to do it when I’ve reached my goal of 149. It was just too soon to start trying. I’m completely taking the day off of walking today. I had my husband rub 2.32% Voltaren (double strength, which we order from Canada) on my lower back this morning, and then I went back to bed until 9am. Now, I’m sitting in my recliner with the heating pad on my back. I’m still being productive by listening to motivational recordings. I’m having mainly Protein Shakes to eat today, to make up for the 700 calories I’ll not burn while walking 6 miles. I feel good about my choices for the day.
