I finished my 5 weeks of cancer treatment and I am so glad. It doesn't sound difficult to go into town every day for radiation, but by the last two days, I did not want to do it. I was exhausted and my mouth is very sore. Follow up is in 8 weeks.
I had my checkup and labs showed a few abnormalities. My vitamin D is almost non existent and I'm a bit anemic. The results that bother me are my liver profiles. I had liver profiles every month for 5 years after my previous cancer treatment. I have repeat labs at the end of June.
Taxes are due on Friday. Those on the cabin doubled and those for the house almost doubled. But, the cost to license my new SUV wasn't as much as I thought they would be.
We actually had 2 beautiful days for Memorial Day. We went to several veterans events and put flowers on family members grave sites. I was pretty tired so we went out to eat. I ate only a quarter of my hamburger and brought the rest home.
Look where a silly robin decided to build her nest! Right in the wreath by the garage door. We have a storm coming in with high winds, rain and snow. I hope nothing happens to her and her eggs.

Losing 0.1 kg a Week
06 May 2024
Starting week 3 of treatment. Things are going pretty good. I have some skin breakdown and blisters, but not too bad. The doctor put me on meds that really bothered my stomach. I thought I may lose a bit of weight, but nothing. The upside is I haven't gained weight.
Driving into town every day makes it difficult to get anything done. I did try out my new spring form pan by baking an orange olive oil cake. Sent most of it home with the boys. I felt well enough to go with hubs to the dump and pick up a new stock tank and soil for our new flower garden project. The only problem is the cold and snow just keep coming.

I have never been outgoing, but I am adventurous and believe in my abilities to handle difficult situations. I took sky diving for a PE credit in college, lived in a bug infested apartment across from a very scary bar in North Hollywood and wandered the back alleys of NYC's Chinatown in the 1970s. But now the thought of an upcoming MRI has sent me into anxiety overload. I had my first radiation treatment yesterday and it went well. Only 19 treatments to go. I'm trying not to stress eat, but it is difficult. I haven't lost nor have I gained anything. I consider that a win at this time.
I bought myself some hyacinth as a little pick me up.

Finally! The last of my water weight/swelling is gone. The "scabs" from my tattoo are starting to slough off. I found it interesting that the tattoo artist said to slap my calf instead of scratching when it started itching. I think some of my fluid retention was from the tattoo.
I've been busy making birthday cards and doing yard work. But we're going to get another blast of cold and snow next week. It's okay as it's time to start burning pastures.

I usually make Easter baskets for the kids and grand kids. I didn't have time since I was in Vegas until Friday night and knew I would not get baskets done, so I bought chocolate tarts from the Americano Cafe. My girlfriend and I had a great time. The weather was perfect. 67 degrees most days. It's always fun to get away, but it's so nice to get home.
We had Easter dinner Saturday as one son had to work on Sunday. We had spiral cut ham, asparagus, mashed potatoes and dinner rolls. It was just our immediate family this year. It was different, but nice.
I'm not posting my weight as my legs are so swollen. It's difficult to flex my ankles. I think I am going to have to wear support stockings all the time when I travel.
