That all looks good, but it seems like a lot of food for small person like you?! I would have to have them both as separate meals or one meal and the fruit as a snack. My body is so stubborn.

Mmmm, looks wonderful to me!

Sherry, just curious why you rarely eat oatmeal? Is it just not a favorite? I quite rarely eat it too, which is funny now that I think of it because it's delicious!

Slow Meta, this is a genuine question, not trying to be rude --- do you not eat very much? This looks like a normal portion to me. No way would I feel full eating only the fruit or only the oatmeal for a meal.

LC, I guess it's just not been a favorite. This was instant that I came across in the pantry when I was putting away the cookies Hubby bought for himself yesterday. 😊 I prepared it with half milk/ half water in the microwave with the blueberries. I added the walnuts before serving. I think in the past I usually used water for prep then added milk & sugar. Anyway, not gourmet...but it tasted good.

I’m with LC. Even what Sherry has would have my tummy growling a hour later. No joke. I need protein. With only carbs I’m hungrier and starving in no time. We are all different though. But I’m curious as well slow meta.

Exactly wifey ! I need a good amount of protein and fiber, some carbs, some fat and I like volume. Eating too much (too many calories for your needs) is not good, but neither is chronically underfuelling. Sherry's been maintaining for a while and around 1800 seems to be serving her well. It looks good, Sherry!

I’m still losing, though slowly at 2000ish daily. Maintenance will be glorious I hope. 2300? Or more? Idk. I’ve never tried it yet. I really should but still aiming for 130 I think. 🤔😉 I do agree. Sherry is doing fabulous!! She eats food I always wish I had! 😂😂

Meta, I'm not sure what you consider a lot of food. You have commented before that my meal seems large. This was 438 calories including 2 large cups of coffee with creamer. I eat fruit every morning & have for a number of years. My bowl holds about a cup. I vary what I eat with the fruit. Sometimes it's half a bagel with peanut butter, sometimes eggs, waffles, etc. I eat breakfast late morning...sometimes as late as noon. I have coffee as soon as I get up , but I'm not an early riser. My "large" meal is dinner that we eat between 7:30 & 8. I eat a snack/ lunch midafternoon.

And, yes I have been in maintenance for the past year. I eat an average of 1800 to 1900 calories a day. When I was losing I averaged 1200 to 1500 a day. I am moderately active. I have been trying to eat more protein, but I know you both eat more than I, Wifey & LC.

Sherry I looked at my averages the past few weeks, it varies 1800 ish to 1900 ish. I think we are close. 👍🏻 ❤️

Meta, another observation I made is you appear to have lost 30 lbs. just since January. That's great! It took me 8 months 😊 I started out at 172 lbs. & wasn't so much in a hurry to lose as I was trying to figure out how to eat healthier while not feeling deprived. I've lost (and gained) the same 20 to 30 lbs. over the years many times. I'm trying to make this the last time.

Wifey, I've considered trying to go for 135, but I've been hesitant. My skin at 65 is not as elastic as it was when I was younger. I'm also pretty sure I'd have to step up my activity level to be able to maintain any lower than I am.

Wifey, if I can get my maintenance to 2000 or a bit over, I'll be really happy with that, at this activity level. In my case, the goal is NOT to eat as little as possible, which I find seems to be common among some dieting communities. I dunno, that's not sustainable in my opinion, and I'd rather have the flexibility of being able to eat on the higher end.

Exactly, Nijay. I know a lot of small people, and they eat normal or big portions. They eat often. They eat everything. Not saying they aren't active or aren't using those calories, but some recommended diet portions seem absurd to me. It might be okay...for a child. Not an adult.

My goal is to eat as much as I can and hold steady. My whole weight loss has been with these numbers. I see so many in here lowering calories as they weighed less. I’ve never done that. I actually had to up mine in the early stages to lose as I was stuck for a long time. I’m always active. My work alone keeps me going, lifting is just added bliss to build muscle. 💪🏻💪🏻

That's my goal too, wifey. I mean, sure, if you lose 100lbs, your body doesn't require as many calories to sustain itself as before, and that's normal. But I do notice a lot of premature lowering of calories to what I consider starvation levels just because results aren't coming fast or they haven't lost 12lbs overnight.

Same. I see it too. So counterproductive! 😑
