Well, I seem to have discovered my maintenance calorie level (1500 kcal/day). The problem is that I'm not ready for maintenance. I've been fluctuating at the wonderland border since before Thanksgiving! I need to lose quite a bit more weight, but I've been having a hard time cutting the calories back to the 1000-1200 level that seems to get me back into fat loss. Here's the plan:

- Pick up the exercise (been a bit slothful this winter)
- More intermittent fasting (Skip the free salad bar at lunch and take extra BP tea)
- Save enough calories to eat a real dinner (because I'll eat it anyway, even if I don't have the calorie budget)
- I've joined two challenges (drink 2 litres of water/day and 30 mins/day of exercise) These basics should help.

Onward and downward! Correndo!

You can do it! I'm going to give IF another try too.

Erika, lots of good reasearch supporting maximizing your exercise effectiveness (with regards to weight loss) by targeting earlier in the day and in a fasted state...improves insulin sensitivity too (a very good thing).

As you know, I am the queen of experimenting. I bet 1200 is the lowest you could go and have energy. Of course, you have read Dr. Fung so you will find your sweet spot again. Water is key for me.

Thank you my friends. I value your input, because I know you are all on this path for the long haul, seriously and by my side! I've been rather undisciplined this winter. Staying in ketosis , but with too many calories and not enough exercise. I know that I control my eating better when I'm moving, so time to step it up! It's almost time to get back into my many gardens. That will help. I'll try the fasted morning exercise, SL. It's finally light enough for me to get in a morning walk before work. I was pretty good about starting my day bulletproof this past week, that helps with IF. And HCB, I've been haven't been drinking enough water, so I'm refocusing on that too, - a good reminder. Now just putting it all together again. Thanks for your support!!

It's all too easy to be slothful when it's cold and dark out! It's nice to see you posting again.

I think it makes a difference when we get more natural light, too. Our pituitary glands have a lot to do with weight control and other health issues and they are nourished by natural light. More daylight hours (if you actually get outside) probably helps us drop winter pounds, if not the fact that we become more active. You do have to let light get into your eyes, so wearing sunglasses 100% of the time won't achieve this benefit. If the sunlight is too bright, you can sit outside for 10 minutes or so with your eyes closed as sunlight can penetrate your eyelids.
