Debbie Cousins's Journal, 15 Jan 23

I’m kinda depressed this morning. My bowels haven’t been moving like they should for almost a week, and my weight is up 4/10 of a pound this morning. I don’t even feel like doing my walking. I’m also on target to keep at under 1,700 calories a day average for this week, but I feel like eating off plan. I want to stuff myself until things are forced to move through. Just last week, I was praising the Lord for how nicely things were moving through me since I added cherries, grapes and honeydew every day. What happened?! Oh well, for this minute, I’m going to refrain from eating anything off plan, and I’m going to get up and start my walking. No promises for the rest of the day, but for right now, I have the strength to do the right thing.

Definitely walk and try to encourage yourself! Also, taking some magnesium before bed really helps with constipation

I hope you feel better. Constipation is the worst feeling 😅😅 I’ve tried miralax ( may take a day or 2 to kick in ) .

Stuff yourself with your fav leafy greens salad and a good tblsp of a healthy oil. Tblsp of butter in your morning coffee and FiberOne every morning. 😜👍

There is no earthly reason to put butter in your coffee. 100 calories down the drain for a big dose of saturated fat. I've had good luck with beets or beet juice. Prune juice always worked better than prunes for me, but beet is a little less sugary. Occasionally I've gone to a juice bar in town to get a beet juice and berries smoothie, no dairy. I referred to it as The Pipe Cleaner. I know it's not your preferred WOE, Debbie, but I've had fewer problems on a diet higher in plant foods and fiber

What always clears my bowels out is Magnesium Calm drink at night. I take it for my restless legs and for leg cramping, and it always makes me go to the washroom, even if I was regular all day. Plus it helps improve sleep.

Thanks, everyone, for all the good advice. I found some Magnesium pills around here, and I'm going to start taking that every night. I ended up taking a couple of Dulcolax pills night before last, and got cleaned out pretty good yesterday and today. Whew!
