Got a yen to make a pan of blintzes. Definitely not something i can eat too often (i mean i could eat them every day if deliciousness were the only factor), but i can work them in on occasion. More cesarish salad from yesterday.

They look great - you are quite a baker! Enjoy!!

Ty gals, they are a serious weakness. @nikeit, i really don't bake (although the popovers have been fun), these are crepes that you fill and either fry or finish off in the oven. So it is like you would do with a casserole/hot dish.

Oh, thanks for explaining - I've never had one but it sounds like I should - YUM!!

Thank you, nike! I guess they kinda look like rolls, i never noticed that before, ha. They are kinda like a jewish version of an enchillada.

I thought it was some kind of puff pastry or the like. Are there traditional things they get stuffed with? Or do you make up your own?

Usually sweetened cheese, like cottage cheese or cream cheese. Then people eat them with berry compote and the like. I use cottage cheese and no sugar bc i don't like them sweet. I made a couple for rm, with one with grape jelly (my mom used to make those for my siblings) and one with cream cheese and cinnamon and sugar. He wasn't wowed by the jelly one and he hasn't tried the other one yet. I just eat them with salt and pepper and a little sour cream.

Yes to savory! Overly sweet blintzes, crepes, etc., make me nuts. One of my favorite treats is a crepe with mushrooms and gruyere cheese. Would probably taste pretty yummy in a blitz as well.

They sound delicious - I love creme cheese and berry compote - but the savory sounds amazing as well! Enjoy your blintzes!!
