Weight creeping up slightly each day. The real test will be what I do AFTER the holidays! A couple years ago, I had done perfectly for a whole year, and then came Easter Dinner. I didn’t log my food, ate whatever I wanted, and then continued to do that for another whole year! If you ever see me not logging what I eat, kick me in the butt!
It’s 8° this morning! In the house, it is only warmed to 57°. Had a cup of hot tea (65 calories) to warm up. Still wasn’t warm enough, so I walked a half mile in the house. STILL was cold, so I did two sinks full of dishes. Feeling more comfortable now.

Our water heater went out the night before last. I had a big mess in the garage of food, laundry, etc. Now I have a wet mess. I'm working on it with my bad back. We got a new one delivered yesterday but it's not working yet. Last night the house gas space heater went out. The burner won't come on. I'm sure the repair man won't come today. Fortunately, our weather is warm this weekend so it's still 70 in the house. My husband is working to install the water heater. One piece of pipe broke taking out the old one so we had to shop for that special item, and last night he had to buy a new "thing" to solder copper pipe. Thank you, Lord we have all these conveniences of modern living. I'm glad to not have snow but am scheduled for a fancy luncheon in 4 hours. Do I want to ask a neighbor if I can use their shower or just use wet wipes? Decisions, decisions. I could heat some water on the stove for a sponge bath but my hair is dirty. All my tables and counters are covered with things I'm taking from the garage floor. It's my fault to have let it accumulate. Now I need to research how to change an ignitor on the heater. 8 degrees is cold but we have had -14 the last couple of nights with 30 mph wind. Very cold outside and even in the house.

@Snowwhite, sounds like a nightmare over there! So sorry about the water heater and space heater! Glad you still have it so warm in the house. It's only 57 in our house this morning, even though the thermostat is set for 69. We did find a sealed oil space heater which kept our bedroom from being freezing last night. Be as careful as you can with that back of yours! Can you spin dry everything from the garage floor and then dry it all in the dryer? You can deal with actually washing it all later. Hope you enjoyed your luncheon. What did you decide to do regarding the shower and your hair?
@Sara7200, you've definitely got it colder than we do here! Thankfully, we've only got a couple more days with mornings in the teens. My son's hot water line froze in the 7 degree weather. Hopefully, it will thaw out tomorrow when it gets above freezing temps.
