Yea you on the PR! I think you made excellent time. Trail running seems like it would be a bit more tricky than treadmill/street running. Beautiful view, too. Adds to the overall enjoyment I'm sure

We all have to start somewhere. Is the Mudder run portion on flat terrain? And are you cutting now?

Wisco Soul thanks I don't run ever this is my second run in like the past 7ish years hahah so it was my longest run. the last one back in October was 2 miles. This was relatively flat but a nice view one of my favorite trout fishing spots as well.

JustBananas idk how flat the one In May is the one in September is pretty flat. Still 3 weeks left in the bulk starting the cut March 1st. I wasn't planning on starting to run until then but today just kinda happened 😅 the mudders aren't a race so I don't have to run fast and the running is broken up by all the obstacles I just want to work myself up to being able to run 6 miles straight by that point.

I guess compared to someone that runs its pretty slow. but not horrible for somone that hates to run and never does it lol

thats a great pace!!! 10 minute miles generally fall in the middle of the pack, if you've ever done a 5k and looked at results! 🙌

Wow! Moving forward and that's a good thing!

My fastest 5k pace was at the end of a half-marathon. Mile 10-13.1 was just over 26mins. I felt that "runners high". The total time was 2:18:xx. It wasn't much of an elevation gain but was at mile high.

Cardio is good for your heart, and most importantly, for your mind. Strength training has many benefits. But long runs will do wonders for your blood pressure and stress levels. There’s nothing like it.

And here’s something that’s hard to believe but well researched: cardio makes you smarter. I’m not kidding. You can concentrate and solve problems better.

kaylinrenee thanks tjats good info I've never done a regular 5k only the 5k tough mudder last year. my mentality for running has always been you only need to run if a bear is chasing you and then you only need to be faster then the other people with you and I know I'm faster than the wife 😄

I think most do better during a race. It's easier to run and keep a good pace when there are so many people running with you.

wifey9707 thanks the shoes worked put great my last run in October left me with a gigantic blister on my arch and it hurt to walk for a few weeks. Today was no problems at all other than the serious case of doms I was dealing with lol. We are usually on the same doms schedule how are your legs today 😄
