Hard to believe that I lost 3 pounds this week on an average daily calories of 2023! I've been keeping track of my weight loss in "quarters" - 13-week periods, as if I were in school. I started on June 23, and my 1st Quarter, I lost 22.8 pounds. 2nd Quarter, I lost 16.4 pounds. This morning ended Quarter #3, and I lost a total of 17.8 pounds. Total so far is 57 pounds in 39 weeks.

Sorry I haven't been checking up on all of you! Things have been pretty busy around here. Yesterday afternoon, I ended another 50 hours with my grandson here. He LOVES spending the night at Grammie's house. For the first time, he successfully slept on a pallet on the floor in my bedroom for the whole night. Usually, my husband has to sleep on the couch, and Jack sleeps in the bed with me. Now, it will make it easier for us to have him in the future.

It was just decided yesterday that we are having our family's Easter dinner and egg hunt after all (didn't look like we were going to do it) and it is at MY HOUSE! Usually we do family celebrations at my mother-in-law's house, but there was a conflict that made that not advisable. The problem with having it in my house is that I have to have it "MIL Ready!" That means I have a LOT of tidying and cleaning to do before Sunday!

The menu will be: Chick-fil-A chicken nuggets (64), "Off the Bone" Ham rolls, Country Ham Biscuits, Macaroni & Cheese, Potato Salad, Pasta Salad, Rum Cake (which just came out of the oven - it gets better every day it sits), and Caramel Cake. The trick will be NOT eating the Rum Cake before Sunday.

Thanks, Shirley. Sounds like you remember that a few years ago, Easter was the downfall of my good intentions and resulted in over a year of being totally out of control. I will try to send people home with as many leftovers as my husband will let me give away! We will only have 8 people in attendance, but it’s four different households to give to. The hardest thing to give away will be the Rum Cake at over 400 calories a slice (1/16 of cake).
