Been MIA for a bit ... busy with work and kids and Ive been working around back to back injuries but still putting lots of time into training. Plus Id rather not get involved with all the recent FS drama that's been going on 🙄. Our first spartan is on Sunday so I won't do any more weight lifting until then just keep messing around in the garage on the obstacles. Making sure to fully submerge my feet at every stream crossing since I'll be running with wet and muddy feet during all my races 😄

I guess I missed the FS drama or are too dense to know what is going on. I hope the back problems are not serious. I showed my hubby your garage gym, plus pictures of your area, you, your wife, and kids and he thought they were great. He thinks I should post more pictures but I am not very good at it. I like the new workout gear. Looks great! I hate having wet or muddy feet though.Yuck. LOL.

MorticiaAddams thanks. 😁 maybe my tolerance for drama is just really low 😄 first it was my foot now its my knee im just a mess. you should definitely post more pics. The wet feet certainly adds to the misery a bit but I think I finally have the right sock and shoe combination to make it not be as bad lol. Now if I really want to train as close to race day as possible I would jump in the river first but that sounds extra miserable for no reason 🤣. Unfortunately the weather isn't going to play nice for us it's going to be really cold and raining but we will get through it just fine with warm clothes and towels at the finish line.

Good luck!! sorry you have to train and run with wet feet. IMO there's nothing worse. 🤣

OTB, that is an EPIC setup you've made. I'm really impressed and you inspire me! 👍 My goal is to be able to climb like that by May 2025. Baby steps, but working on it. The weather sounds like it will make the Spartan more intense than normally. I hope you post pictures. Morticia there were some vitriolic threads the other day, filled with hatred and immaturity. You didn't miss anything.

Muddying the shoes to train is dedication, there! I would probably just strap on 1 lb. ankle weights, 'cause I hate wet socks & shoes, and I wouldn't want to get mud all over my training course. 😣 Love these photos -- are you wearing the new orange shoes in all of them?

kaylinrenee thanks! I mean I certainly don't have to train with wet feet but I don't hop around any puddles on the trial and especially when I'm on my way back I'm dunking them in every stream lol sounds crazy but I've been doing it for awhile to try and find the perfect sock and shoe combination and these drain well enough and the merino wool socks with liners under them don't give me any problems even when they are wet they dry pretty quick.

Wisco thanks 😊 the best part of the set up is my kids use it every single day. They stop there and climb in the garage after school everyday instead of going inside and trying to go on the TV I absolutely love that part and so happy I got it cleared back out and usable. I found my go pro and have all the batteries charged up so hopefully I get some good action shots of me plus the kids. climbing is a lot of fun a great full body workout and gets super addicting you will have a blast working your way up in it. last year for our tough mudder it was cold dark and rainy as well so we're use to it lol. my race starts at 9 am so its still going to be pretty darn cold the kids dont start till 1130 so it will be slightly warmer for them.

JustBananas I had a hard time dunking my shinny new bright orange expensive hokas at first but it had to be done 😆. no I was wearing rock climbing shoes when I was on the wall I was doing mostly climbing that day

I understand about the drama! I'm glad you posted though! Love the climbing pics! I am easing into bulking. . I think you did that, any tips or advice? I have good muscles but hate that they aren't visible unless I flex. Did you do a clean bulk, take creatine, drink protein shakes...thanks!💪

VERY impressive! You're gonna do great. I'd always borrow that Rocky mantra on game/competition days; "NO PAIN" to keep going. Feel free to borrow it.😁 Most impressive is the example you're setting for your children to be active and not giving up. 👍👍

My kids have a party next month at our Ninja gym. I'm thinking about giving it a go. The adult side is serious. There are 3 American Ninja Warriors here, including the winner of 2021 season. I explained to Supergainz how crazy fit my area is. lol I won't do well with my shoulder (and my weight is high now). I'm sure you would kick ass here. I'll take pics and vids so you can check it out.

Diana 1234 thanks 😊 and don't worry it's not just you if I'm wearing a loose shirt it looks like I don't even lift 🤣 good luck with the bulk its well worth it

Sorry to hear about the injuries but I know you will weather them like a champ. Good luck at the Spartan. I have had fun recently with my grandson throwing lots of rocks in the lake and then soccer practice so I get behind on FS because at that point my priority is my family and me!

Great to see this… I used to be a big time runner till I broke a foot and then sat on my ass during COVID…. Now I feel like I need to get some weight off before I go back to running so I don’t destroy my joints … this post reminds me of the excitement before a race and how good it felt to tear up the miles … thanks for sharing

I’m so envious. The official big muddier is coming here in a couple of months and i was vetoed three times due to my new hip and my bad left hip situation by 1) hubby who thinks i will break every bone in my body 2) surgeon who said he wont be able to fix me if my new hip starts experiencing pain and 3) my daughter who is certain i will just get hurt. Holy cow the only one who was on my side was my trainer but I’m going to bow down to the majority. Just seems like so much fun!

Big mudder. Not muddier. Autocorrect

Ah, the drama...never have I regretted commenting on a post more 😳 On the bright side, it put me in touch with a very nice newbie, and I now know two people to avoid 🤣 Good idea to dunk those shoes and get used to it before you have to do it for realsies! In the meantime, I've been too wimpy to walk in the rain. I need a minor transfusion of your good energy 😃
