Debbie Cousins's Journal, 04 Jan 21

Lost 3-1/2 pounds this week. For my HealthyWage challenge, I "only" have to lose 2.5 pounds a week (which is the goal I set) to lose 60 in six months. Glad I'm off to a really good start. Will keep doing what I did this week and see if I get similar results again next week! The Jackstraws and Chocolate-Covered Peanuts are all gone, so switching my "dessert" item to CarbMaster (Kroger) Yogurt with Pecans on it. Was surprised to find out that it is also Lactose Free. It probably has been all along, but just didn't have it on the label.

I input the recipe for Rum Cake into my cookbook today to get the stats on it. Not sure if it would be worth it - 296 calories for 1/24th of a cake. That's a pretty thin slice of a bunt cake. But, if we have a special occasion come up, I could freeze the other 3/4 of the cake, and we could just have ONE slice a day as a special treat. I could work it into my Calorie limit. At THIS point, though, I'm afraid I would want MORE than one piece a day, so I'll wait until I know my resolve is stronger before testing it.

Hope everyone gets off to a great start with this first full week of the New Year!

Great job! You are off to a wonderful start. I'm with you on the restraint (or lack thereof). I've been wanting to make some protein balls but I'm worried I'll eat too many at one time. Maybe next week....
