Debbie Cousins's Journal, 17 Jul 21

Finally had a BM this morning, and went down from 205.8 to 205.2 overnight. Today feels like it could turn out to be a hungry day - actually I don't GET hungry (vagus nerve snipped), but I WANT food, and want it frequently on this kind of a day. I had an Atkins Farmhouse Scramble (to which I added 1/2 ounce of cheddar cheese) and a slice of Thin Dave's Killer 21 Grains & Seeds toast with 1 Tbsp. of butter, and I WANTED another slice of toast/butter, but (at least for now) I'm refraining.

Feeling like I need a rest and recuperation day today, after being out all day shopping on Thursday and having the kids all day yesterday. I think I'll go back to bed for a bit. I DID dry a load of clothes this morning and even FOLDED them! Maybe I should put another load in while I'm on a roll. I have an intensive aversion to folding clothes. It's not that I dislike it -- I just can't make myself do it, for some unknown reason. It's like a mental block. There's another basket of clean laundry in the living room, and it's been there for at least three weeks. Maybe I should just fold THAT load instead of trying to wash more. Hmmm. Let me sleep on that and see how I feel led when I wake up.

I'm thankful that I have the luxury of being ABLE to take a "day off" whenever I want to and that it is not necessary for me to hold down a full-time job. I feel bad for all you (especially older) folks who have no choice but to have to work. I should be thankful more often! THANKS< GOD!!!

I've been putting off pressure washing the screens and awning for a week now. Here's a thought: Though doing the easiest thing first and getting quick wins can help you ease back into productivity, it’s not always the right path if there’s something bigger that’s hanging over your head. Sometimes, you’re just not going to get any relief from your anxiety until you do the thing that sucks. I need to GET IT DONE..
