SLYONE 22's Journal, 20 Mar 22

I have no idea what triggered my "eat everything in sight and search for more"! I haven't done this in months. Totally out of control to the point of discomfort. I logged it all and I'm appalled. I will get back on the path tomorrow, but really disappointed and disgusted.

It happens - usually that happens after a long time period of limited CI - remember that in order to lose weight - we all have to take in much less than our CO - after a time - the body wants to boost itself - so forgive yourself for the natural urge of the body to gain extra - fats - proteins - carbs - or whatever. Go with the flow - it happens to all of us. It takes about 3 days of the limited CI to settle back into the groove and get back to where you were - no biggie -it happens to all of us and it will happen again ---- just keep going!

When that "urge"happens with me --- I just go with the flow and try to keep it under 2,000 calories - I just eat whatever I wish - usually after eating about 600 calories - I finally just make pancakes - and have butter and syrup - and for me that seems to stop it. Then I am stuffed and I feel disgusted and I go to bed.

I do the same thing and Jergens is right. I have found that having one "splurge" meal a week helps, though I try not to go overboard. It helps with the out of control urges.

I am attempting at this moment to keep my CI - very low - I find that keeping the protein level high helps to negate feelings of over eating or hunger. At the low CI there is going to be a shortage because you are trying to get the body to ... eat fat stores - energy stores - so even one day of low protein works to send my body into a feeding frenzy and it takes 3 days to stabilize again. Eating a variety of food suggests to the body that - there is no food shortage even though portions are small. So if you have a strong "urge" --- just eat the pancakes but keep it to only 1/4 cup of mix - and measure the syrup and log it....you may as well give the body what it wants but you get to control how much. so that is what I do or try to do --- eat the pancakes - drink a coffee - have a cup of water - and go and have a bath or go to bed...since there is no food in the bathtub (and yes I know that a bag of Doritos is transportable but do not take food into the bathroom)

It could happen to almost any of us. I have to watch myself. Hunger is my enemy.

Thanks for the support! I am back on track today. Hunger was not even part of the disaster yesterday. I blew by 2000 calories by just afternoon. Ended at 2800+. It was more of a Fenzied Foraging that nothing satisfied. Hopefully it will be another 6-8 months or maybe never that I go through that again! It's such a comfort to be able to vent and get caring support from you guys! Love You! Prayers for a Blessed Monday for you!
