SLYONE 22's Journal, 29 Mar 22

I have a Dr appointment today. I am taking my daughter with me for an extra set of ears. This is not going to be a quick in and out. I have a list of things that I need to discuss in order to make a plan for improving my mobility and strength. I have lost over 85# in the last 2.5 years. I have not been physically active for 90% of that loss. I have no idea what my % of body fat is currently.

I'm now within 25-30# of what I think is my goal weight. I have 0 muscle strength and labs say that my kidney filtration rate is low. Several other symptoms have popped up over the last few months. (hair loss, extremely dry skin and vision changes)

I am 66 years old and retired from a high stress job for a year. I am sleeping more and better than I have in years. I fibromyalgia pain, a bone spur in my right shoulder, and arthritis in my ankles. I also had both knees replaced about 5.5 years ago.

Sorry this is so long. I am just recording this for my record. This is the first first step in the next phase of Healthy me.
91.3 kg Lost so far: 12.6 kg.    Still to go: 5.1 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

Wow... you've had quite a two year program. Not sure if you are drawing Medicare, but Silver Sneaker programs are still active with some of the Medigap policies/& Advantage Plans. Take advantage of what ever is offered for gym access - usually free. United through AARP has a exercise plan called RENEW. Both do the same thing. Get you into the gyms for free. I use mine for pool therapy. Hope that helps. I'm sorry you don't feel well. Another thing is massage therapy. Look for someone who does Fascia/ trigger point or Bowen therapy. They deal with your issues.

Thanks REM. Yes taking my clone is a very good thing. She's my youngest and born on my birthday. She sometimes seems to be living in my brain. No worries about her not calling me out if I need it. Will post tomorrow about Dr.

la tor thanks so much for the info. I am on Medicare and have United as well. I will have to check out what is available in our small town. Just for a fun bit of trivia, I live in Dodge City. Used to do regular massage until my gal got married and moved to Arizona. Your share of insight is great.

Don't wish to be scary or anything, but dry skin, vision changes, male pattern baldness are all signs of diabetes. And kidney problems happen to a lot of diabetics. I'm sure they'll test you for this, I hope you don't have it but if you do all is not lost. I'm a diagnosed type 2 and I still have all my fingers and toes. :D best of luck.

Hoping for the best possible outcome.

Skydiver and Bubbles thanks so much for the good wishes! Apparently I am amazingly healthy except for the kidney issue. BP 117/76, all labs well within normal range, no diabetes or heart issues. I took Meloxicam for 3 years and haven't been hydrating well. Dealing with both of these. Hoping for the best.
