SLYONE 22's Journal, 05 Dec 22

I'm proud of my continued loss. It is slower now. That is not a surprise as I am getting closer to the size I originally thought of as my target. I am 3 years and 3 months into my new lifestyle. I have proven to myself that I can succeed in spite of all that life has thrown in my path. This is my 2nd time using FS to guide my redefining of what my life is going to be. There have been 2 times when stopped tracking and just took a break. This past 6 weeks is the 3rd. Again, life was just too overwhelming to find time to document it. I have continued a steady downward trend through it all. It took me 60+ years to finally value myself. I finally realize that I am not being selfish when I choose to take time to care for myself. It is what allows me to care for others.

There will always be temptation and I will not always make the best choice. I have learned that being mindful and not allowing myself to become self destructive is a choice. Life is a series of daily choices. If I don't choose to make a choice, I have in fact made a choice.

I pray that you all can find a peaceful relationship with food and yourself. It is the sustained daily poor food choices that sabotage our mental and physical health. Blessings and Serenity to all who struggle, may you have a moment to just Breathe.

Thanks Morticia! You are doing great as well. I'm jealous of your snow. We had a true 1930s dirt storm here on Friday. 50 to 65 mph winds driving a wall of dirt.

Thanks Joe! You've been one of my biggest outside motivations. When I reread my post this morning, I was afraid it was too preachy. As you know, there are tough days even when you figure it out. Thanks for being so genuine! You are a Special blessing.

otb you too inspire me! Thank you for your reinforcement! You are a great example of an awesome parent and a healthy lifestyle. Thank you for sharing your workout pics. It is one of my motivators on the "don't wanta" days. Blessings on you and your beautiful family.

Thanks Kenna. I appreciate your 👍👍. Pretty sure it is not magic just crazy stubborn. I still have crappy days like everyone else. Just refuse to allow them to become weeks. We all have to figure out what works best for our bodies and lives.

Thanks buenita! I love your food pics and menus. I'm not nearly so disciplined in picture taking. I always think I should have taken a pic when it is too late. Blessings on your journey.

Diana thank you! You are so right about the work. It is easier now, most days. I Just keep reminding myself why vigilance is so important. Keep focusing on the why. Have a blessed day.

Very sweet of you to say... means a lot. Yes you're so right. Like the last few days I haven't slept well. It always usually leads to feeling down and out. But I've gotten better like you said. By not letting one bad day roll into a few days or more. Even those of us who have "it figured out" slip up. We're all human... ❤️Keep on smashing it out of the park. Life is so much easier when we have a plan and carry it out each day.

Thank You @slyone 22!! I really appreciate this post! I have used FS many times and failed! This time I am succeeding, but feeling frustrated. The thought that I "should" still be losing like I did in the beginning, is causing some negative thoughts and shame. I am still less than 2 years this time. Your post helped me to understand that I am just in a phase and my journey is NOT over. I will still try to lose and allow for smaller losses. (Sorry I made this about me) I am really proud of your accomplishments! You are a rockstar!!! 💪 💯 🌎 🫶 ☘️

Thanks caraken. We are the same age. You have done wonderful in reclaiming your health. I applaud your response! I understand your indecision, I am there as well. The last time I was this low was high school senior. We will figure it out when we are supposed to see it.

3dkids2 you're doing amazing! You have lost 50# more than I have. I have learned to give myself grace. You have been doing this long enough to have a realistic picture of what a healthy amount and combination of food looks like. Don't beat yourself up for taking a mentally healthy break. Weigh when you feel like you need to. +/-5# is a good limit in my world. You can decide what works for you. Don't go off the rails crazy, just allow yourself to breathe and enjoy your new body. Set a goal for when you want to get back to more structured loss. You will know when you are mentally ready to push forward. This is a lifestyle adjustment not a sprint to the goal line, so you can go back to poor eating habits. You have already succeeded. Continued Success is in your future.
