today after work I decided to start filling a note book with all the things I find joy in/have an emotional reaction to/triggers a memory... I'm not entirely sure what I am to get out of this but I need to start trusting myself... well to some extent 🤷.

I guess I'm hoping that in some weird way it will help me navigate my own thoughts and feelings in a way that isn't relaying on food. it will be a running record and some of the things on there so far are a bit close to home... for completely different reasons, and completely different ends of the scale. one is the way sheets flap I'm the wind I'm summer when they are hung on the line ... the other is the feeling I get in my heart and pit of my stomach when I hear the rural fire siren.

happy memories of my brother and I playing in the sheets on the line as kids, but then complete feeling of dread hearing the siren. my brother is a fire fighter, as a teenager I constantly hear his pager when he was in a city station and it didn't strike fear into me like the rural siren did when he moved out of the city. I think in writing these kind of things down it will help me reflect on the things I feel, why I feel them and hopefully find strategies to help me avoid emotional binge eating.
