Apple Strudel

Homemade pastry and delicous fillings - what could be better.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. To make the pastry, blend flour and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Add margarine and cut through with a knife to blend.
  3. Add water and vinegar and knead to form dough.
  4. Divide dough in half and roll out each half until very thin.
  5. To make the filling mix all ingredients together.
  6. Preheat oven to 350 °F (175 °C). Cover each rectangle of dough with filling, roll up.
  7. Place on baking sheet with dough joint facing down.
  8. Brush with glaze and bake 45 minutes until golden.

I would just use apples, brown sugar splenda and cinnamon and heat it in a pot. As a rare treat and top with non fat whip (vanilla extract added)Everything else can be avoided. IF NOT FOR THIS DIET...I WOULD BE ALL OVER THIS RECIPE HOW IT IS! Yummy!
